Charles Stith is an American diplomat and academic who served as the United States Ambassador to Tanzania from 1998 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He was also the President of the African Presidential Archives and Research Center at Boston University, where he taught International Relations for over a decade. Stith played a key role in strengthening US-Tanzanian relations during his ambassadorship, and he is also known for his advocacy for democracy, human rights, and economic development in Africa.
